About |
Christos Galanis is a Canadian/Greek researcher, teacher and artist currently living in the UK. His research centres on the ways in which embodied practices internalise, reproduce, and/or subvert culture, and he's passionate for exploring the potential for somatic practices as tools for decolonizing relationships with Land/Spirit/Body.
Currently a PhD candidate in Cultural Geography at the University of Edinburgh, he holds an MFA in Art & Ecology from The University of New Mexico and a BFA in Music from Concordia University, Montreal. He is a scholar of the Orphan Wisdom School of Stephen Jenkinson in Ontario, and a devoted apprentice to Donkeys, Mountains, and Yew Trees. Christos is a Research Associate at Art.Earth, and member of both The Edinburgh Environmental Humanities Network, and The Walking Artists Network. He is also co-creator of Peripatetic Praxis with collaborator Francesca Pedulla. |
